Private rented sector tenants and landlords are being encouraged to use a council’s new Call Us First service if there’s a crisis.
Wolverhampton council’s Call Us First service is essentially website-based and offers landlord/agent/tenant pages providing advice and information; signposting to key services, partners and stakeholders; updates, and information on legislation changes and news about the private rented sector.
The authority claims this provides “an inclusive, preventative and targeted approach to support early intervention for private sector tenants and landlords” with an aim “to prevent homelessness and help people stay in their homes.“
It’s a free service and a Wolverhampton council spokesperson says: “The realigned service will establish a more meaningful and Wolverhampton centred approach, to working with private sector landlords, tenants and owner occupiers to improve properties and management practices.
“The new website provides the platform for us to achieve this vision and is part of our ongoing work to provide early intervention to prevent people becoming homeless.”
