A Labour local authority is inviting landlords to hear about what it calls “the benefits of working with the council.”
Reading council is to reveal details of its rent guarantee scheme, and the incentives available to landlords who sign up to it.
A council spokesperson says: “The council has worked closely with Reading landlords for many years.
“Our Landlord Information Evening is a great way to ensure those with properties to rent in Reading can learn about our Rent Guarantee Scheme and the benefits it offers, as well as all the valuable help and support that our other council teams can offer to help them manage their properties better for tenants, so that everyone wins.
“We’re working on our own programme of building affordable new homes for residents, but just as important is taking a leading role in ensuring that there are not only opportunities for residents in the private rental sector, but that we help drive standards up in this area to provide the high quality housing that everyone deserves.”
There will be sessions at the evening on the Renters Rights Act and how to prevent and tackle damp and mould.
The Landlord Information Evening on 29 October will open at 6pm with presentations starting at 6.30pm
