A council is working with the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) to host a Renters Rights Act teach-in on Thursday April 2.
Cherwell council says it will be in the council chamber at Banbury.
The event is billed as a chance for local landlords and property professionals to hear from experts about what they need to do to comply with the Act.
Councillor Nick Cotter, Portfolio Holder for Housing, says: “The Renters Rights Act introduces some very welcome changes to renting. I
“t will help people feel more secure in their homes and bring forward a clear set of rules to make sure every rented property is safe, warm and in good repair.
“We are clear about the value a well-run private rented sector brings to our communities, so it’s only right that we are proactive about helping local landlords get up to speed on the new rules.
“The Landlords’ Forum is free of charge and a really informative event with a host of experts on hand and the opportunity for attendees to ask questions and connect with fellow landlords.”
The council’s environmental protection and enforcement team will offer tips on dealing with nuisance, antisocial behaviour, and options for pest control. There will also be a presentation about accounting for landlords, courtesy of Ellacotts.
The event is from 5.50pm until 8pm on April 2.
