Landlords are invited to an online forum to hear expert advice, updates on legislative changes and ask questions about issues affecting the private rented sector.
Wiltshire council is launching the Wiltshire Landlord Forum, a quarterly online event for landlords, letting agents and housing professionals.
The first forum is on September 24 at 2pm and will focus on Phase 2 of the Renters Rights Act.
This includes an overview of forthcoming changes, landlord responsibilities and practical guidance on how landlords can prepare for compliance.
Phase two includes the introduction of the new Private Rented Sector Ombudsman and Private Landlord Database.
The online chat will be an opportunity to discuss what these changes will mean for landlords, the steps landlords may need to take to comply, and the likely impact on the management of private rented homes.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the wider implementation of the Act and future regulatory requirements.
Attendees will hear from Wiltshire council on its approach to the private rented sector, including enforcement policy, local priorities, and emerging issues and trends being seen across the county.
There will be a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
Participants will be able to submit questions in advance by email, raise questions during the event and provide further queries after the session.
A council spokesperson says: “Private landlords play a vital role in providing homes for people across Wiltshire, and it is important they have access to reliable information and support as legislation continues to evolve.
“Our new Wiltshire Landlord Forum will give landlords the opportunity to hear directly from experts, understand upcoming changes and engage with council officers on the issues that matter most to them.
“The forum builds on the success of previous landlord training sessions and forms part of Wiltshire council’s ongoing work to support a well-informed, professional and compliant private rented sector.”
