Marks Out Of Tenancy, a platform where tenants review landlords, has struck a deal with a high profile students union.
The deal with Cambridge University Students’ Union aims to give students a collective voice to navigate the private rental sector.
A statement from the platform says: “For students, who often enter the housing market for the first time during their studies, it’s never been more important to have access to transparent information and legal guidance.
“Through the partnership, Cambridge students can now use Marks Out Of Tenancy to read and leave anonymous reviews of landlords, letting agents, properties, and neighbourhoods.
“These real-life accounts offer valuable insights for others considering a tenancy, while holding housing providers accountable for the quality of their service and accommodation.”
Ben Yarrow, who runs Marks Out Of Tenancy, comments: “Students deserve safe, secure, and fair housing – and the first step towards that is knowing what you’re walking into.
“By sharing honest reviews and accessing legal guidance, Cambridge students can protect themselves and others from bad renting experiences.”
